The summer of 2010 T.R.A.C. was a huge success! We had 16 young women and young men that experienced acceptance, love, and most of all, HOPE.
It was and is a sincere privilege and honor of each of the coaches and support staff to serve these young people and help guide them toward a meaningful and productive lifestyle.
With the 2010 T.R.A.C. camps behind us and the summer ending, we had the pleasure of having Tim and Serena Howell, T.R.A.C. co-founders, as guests here at Living Water Ranch in September. We spent lots of time together talking about the future of T.R.A.C. and how Living Water Ranch fits into the vision Tim and Serena have for the ministry and future training. We are very pleased and excited that the Howell's have selected Living Water Ranch as a training facility for T.R.A.C. Directors from the east coast to the midwest! Plans are for Director training to begin during the 2011 T.R.A.C. camps.
In October, Mike and Lisa made a trip to Sherwood, Oregon to attend the T.R.A.C. National Directors Seminar. This was an opportunity for Mike and Lisa to connect with other directors, share experiences, have some rest and recreation and get much needed information for the 2011 T.R.A.C. camps. They returned home geared up and ready to tackle the coming year.
T.R.A.C. is a concept that closely resembles Royal Family Kids' Camps. It is endorsed by Royal Family Kids' Camps, Inc., out of Santa Ana, CA. It offers R.F.K.C. graduates and other foster kids a camp they can go to between the ages of 12 to 15. Like R.F.K.C., T.R.A.C. serves kids from the state foster system that due to behavioral problems and medications are not able to go to most other summer camps.
This is quite an opportunity that allows everyone associated with Living Water Ranch and Rapid Fire Outdoor Adventures to touch the life of a teenager and make a difference in a young man’s and/or young woman’s life. The 3-day camps are single gender camps with the purpose of encouraging these kids to work as a team, trust each other and the counselors and understand their incredible value! Can 3 Days make a Difference? Absolutely! To visit the T.R.A.C. website follow this link http://www.teenreachadventurecamp.org
Every camper that attends camp, does so at no charge to the camper or their foster family. That means we have a great deal of work to do before next season to raise the funds necessary to make the camps one of the most memorable for each teen attending.
We are looking for individuals, families, businesses, churches, civic organizations, etc., that may be interested in investing in the life of a teen. There are two ways you can help us. You can contribute financially and you can pass this information along to anyone you know in any of the above categories. They can contact Mike and Lisa Irvin by email at lwrrfoa@gmail.com or call 785-410-2995 or 785-468-0060. The cost is $500.00 per camper.
Mike and Lisa are available to speak with your organization, group or congregation. They can share in more detail about what T.R.A.C.is and the affect of the camps on the teens.
If you would personally like to make a donation to help provide a life-changing experience for a teen, please feel free to do so. Donations can be mailed to: Living Water Ranch/RFOA, Attn: TRAC, 4122 Living Water Road, Olsburg, KS 66520. Checks should be made payable to T.R.A.C. We can also take you donation by credit card by calling 785-410-2995. Lisa will be able to assist you when you call.
Thank you in advance and please check back for updates!
